Hey friend,

There is a phase in life most of us go through but few talk about.

Not because it's rare.

Because it's sometimes very uncomfortable to admit.

It's something I call the ‘long freezing winter’.

And if you're in it right now, I need you to know that you are not behind. You are going through exactly what growth is supposed to feel like.

Let me tell you a story about a 12 year old boy from Canada

This boy was from a lower middle class family, but his dad lost his job as an accountant which totally sent them into poverty.

His family had no plan, no safety net and whole family had to move into a Volkswagen camper van.

His mom got addicted to painkillers and so he decided to do something.

He dropped out of school at 16 and worked full time as a janitor, out of desperation to keep his mom feeling better he started to do comedy.

He started doing stand up in small clubs in Canada, most were empty rooms some were hostile, but it was clear nobody believed in him.

He was alone in that chapter of his life….

At 23 year of age he decided that he will not be struggling like this.

He wrote himself a post-dated check for $10 million in 1985 and it was dated for Thanksgiving 1995.

And this is how life work when you put a deadline to your goals….

Right before the due date in late 1995, he landed a role in a movie for a $10 million

The movie was called Dumb and Dumber and it was a huge hit

The man is the Golden Globe Awards winning actor ‘Jim Carrey’

See his winter season lasted 10 years but it was what he did in those 10 that bore fruit.

It has a lot of similarity to what you may or are going through.

Maybe you started waking up earlier. Reading instead of scrolling. Taking your health seriously. Saying no to things that used to feel normal.

And slowly, the people around you start to feel different.

Not negative, just different.

They're not on the same path anymore. And you're not far enough on yours to find your new companions yet.

So you're stuck in the middle.

Alone.

This is the Winter season.

The gap between who you were and who you're becoming.

It's the hardest part of growth that nobody warns you about.

Because this is where most people quit.

But here's what I want you to remember:

Every single person who has built something meaningful has been through this exact season.

No exception.

The loneliness is not a sign you're doing it wrong. It's proof you're doing it right.

Stay committed.

The people on the other side of this chapter are already waiting for you. They've walked through their own winter season.

They'll get it. They'll celebrate you.

But first you have to earn your place among them.

Keep walking.

Your biggest fan,

Abi
